This raise a question in mind that Is enterprise IT in danger of becoming a dinosaur? With the growing span of technological advancement, people have found shortcuts through the ease to usage of these IT devices and gadgets. The true innovation in the information and communication technology spheres has shifted to the realm of the consumer, where as the corporate IT is still hidden behind the fortress of firewalls and other data security restrictions. This sift has brought a new phase in the global world, consumers have got the power in their hands and massive development in consumer oriented services have been seen. Also, the vast developments of communication devices has left an emerging effect of the changes occurring which drives into 'consumerization' of enterprise IT. It is obvious that when people use their personal tablets and smart phones, it brings to the setting referred as Bring Your Own Device, i.e. BYOD. All of the things that involves the sharing of business related data and communication comes under the concept of Consumerization with this the change in IT control is occurring in companies.

Consumerization is used in many ways, commonly the use of consumer technology is referred to it which involves the updating of your corporate work, calendars, assignments and other work related activities. Clients also reach to the limit of using soft wares designed for their personal use. The social networking sites; face book and twitter, posting of videos on You-tube, communicating colleague through Skype and sharing of files and documents, all shows that the workers use these technologies even if there is no consent to company's work.
