The Importance of Communication in the Criminal Justice System



Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Criminal Justice” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “Criminal Justice” and its relation with “Communication”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “Criminal Justice” and tries to gauge its effect on “Communication”. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “Criminal Justice” and tries to describe the overall effect of “Criminal Justice” on “Communication”.

The Importance of Communication in the Criminal Justice System

Introduction

The criminal method starts with the apprehending of the criminal defendant and often finishes with the issue of the inmate after a prison sentence. All communication made to the arresting officer, the defense advocate, the prosecuting advocate and the judge can influence the outcome of the case. Written, verbal and non-verbal communication can be identically detrimental.

 

The Defendant's Responsibility

The defendant should be honest with the court, his advocate and his probation officer. However, the defendant is not obligated to volunteer self-incriminating information or clues to the arresting officer, the prosecuting advocate or the court. Open communication between the defendant and his public defender or personal defense advocate is critical to establish a solid defense.

 

The Attorney-Client Privilege

The Attorney-Client Privilege stops revelation of secret communications made between a criminal defendant and his attorney. This privilege may not request to open communication made in the occurrence of a third party or in a public forum, including internet note communication. Any party to a case should refrain from open discussion of the clues or test details, except with his or her attorney.

 The criminal justice scheme exists to defend the citizenry and sustain security and order. Together and individually the components of the criminal  justice scheme proceed to avert crime, suppress criminal perform, apply and reconsider preventive crime assesses, apply legal assesses to sustain alignment, permit judicial determination of culpability, enforce sanctions founded upon the guilt of the player, and supply accepted correctional assesses for convicted offenders.

 

The Components of the U.S. Criminal Justice System

The criminal justice scheme in the United States has three major components: the policeman, the courts, and the correctional system. These function simultaneously both as a sequence of interrelated components and, individually, as autonomous and unaligned units. Thus, the administration of justice is highly interactive, with power split up amidst the policeman, the courts, the correctional scheme, and parole, probation, and juvenile justice agencies.

Justice is administered at all three grades of government—federal, state, and local. The period that defines this relationship is federalism—the sharing of power between the government and state governments. The government has its own law enforcement bureaus (e.g., the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Secret Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation) and its own court scheme, which prosecutes violations of government law, which is consistent all through the country, despite of the jurisdiction in which the court is located.
