CT (Computerized Tomography)

Introduction

Computerized Tomography is also known as Computed Tomography or X-ray computed tomography. It is a medical procedure that is used for imaging and methods of tomography, involving computer processing. The medical name for this procedure is Computed Axial Tomography (CAT Scan). Using digital geometry processing, a three-dimensional image is generated. This image is generated by the combination of a large series of two-dimensional images. These two-dimensional X-ray images are taken around one singular axis of rotation.

With the help of a process known as 'windowing', CT produces large volumes of data that is easily manipulated. Windowing allows ...
