Abstract

The aim of this study an attempt has been made to cover the topic of cultural evolution in a holistic context. The main point that is discussed from variegated facets is that the changes in the factors of race relations can also affect the social relationship. This pattern of social change and changes in the social relationship are not only common in America but, this pattern can also be observed all over the globe. The study also shed the light on the concept that there are scores of factors that shape the behavior of an individual. In this paper, this change of behavior is covered from the perspective of integration, segregation, and paradigms based on race. The phenomenon of the racial intelligence is also discussed in the study. In a nutshell, it can be said that the paper present the idea that how the behavior of an individual is get affected by the cultural evolution.

Introduction

The world in which we live is full of different people. These different people live together in a society. When people from different backgrounds, race, religion and customs come together and share their feelings and all these factors then there is possibility and increased chances that they may cause an impact on the cultural values of each other. When the cultural values of people from one background affects the cultural values and other aspects of other people belonging to some other culture, race and ethnicity. When these changes continue to exist and keep on creating its affect on people and society in which they live then this phenomenon is known to be as cultural evolution. The aim and objective of this paper is also to talk about this concept of social evolution. The following part of the paper discusses the concept of the cultural evolution from variegated perspectives.

Background of the problem

Cultural Evolution

Cultural evolution means change over time of cultural elements of a society (or a portion thereof). The evidence shows that culture can be defined as development of the practices, customs, religions, values, social organization, technology, law, languages, artifacts, tools, transport, developed by the accumulation and transmission of knowledge to the best adaptation of the environment. The evolutionary theory applied to social sciences was a consequence of two major scientific contributions of mid-nineteenth century: the evolution to biology rose by Darwin and philosophy positivism of Auguste Comte. In this context, developmental stages were formulated as the American author Morgan Lewis (1818-1881) and Britain's Edward Burnett Tylor (1834-1917), who, with some different shades raised the existence of three main stages in the cultural development of human groups, known from lower to higher level of development: savagery, barbarism and civilization (Rushton & Ankney, 1996).
