Deep Ecologist Murray Bookchin

Introduction

“Freedom is not the daughter of order, is the mother of order”, said by PJ Proudhon, Solution to the social problem, 1848. In order to provide an overview of Murray Bookchin's thinking is not an easy job or easy task given the breadth of vision that American activist and researcher demonstrated in busy life. However, it is necessary to begin to tackle this task since-except-only partial aspects are studies devoted to analyze their work and value it as a whole.

In this paper we will discuss political, economic, ideological, cultural framework grounded in the writings of Bookchin that offers ways of progressive ecological thinking and an effective programmatic/pragmatic movement toward an ecological society.

Discussion

Bookchin's critique is made ??about the practice developed by the individual in its ecological environment, the ecological environment defined by Bookchin as "society". Man, caught in market practices, lives and works in a continuous domination among individuals, also playing domination between society and the environment from technological applications and the implementation of the model where everything is manufacturable for the market (Luke, pp. 178).

Ideological and Cultural Factors

The technology makes it easier for the individual, the perfect, but under the control and management of patents and large corporations cannot be expected of them, or rather, of their owners. The great bourgeois revolutions, like the French of the eighteenth, says Bookchin, succeeded because the approach pursued achieved a match between all levels of society, strengthening the revolution, the "general will". Not so ever, with the proletarian revolutions later, where it becomes impossible to articulate the "general will" once made ??the bourgeoisie with all the technology in their possession. All the proletarian revolutions failed because the premises existing technology did not allow the building material of the general will. After a decade of the century, the steps are still very small. It is true that you have created laws and protocols, and that there is increased interest in society for the problems related to the biosphere as a whole. Not so however with the owners of big capital.

The brushstrokes that draw more than just, egalitarian, democratic and sustainable set as necessary, to dissolve the power emanating from these lobby imbalance and from all walks of life world. Together we must admit reformulation around a new technology but also new relationships between individuals for this to be bound. This I think is the defining issue in Bookchin. Is needed is a model of relationship with nature which emanates harmony and respect, but also requires a relationship between individuals provides for a harmonious and respectful manner among ourselves. While we need to equip ourselves with a technology that meets the objective of eliminating the problems raised here, that technology goes through to be managed and controlled. The new betting wind, solar and other energy under investigation have to be a common good, eliminating the possibility of being controlled by power. If these technologies are really friendly environment are also for society, “what humanity needs is not to ...
