Identifying, Stating, and Addressing Research Problems

Complex computer networks exist throughout the world. In fact, computer networks are so vast and growing so quickly that colleges and universities offer degree programs focused upon computer system design and administration (Johnson, 2011). The identified problem “Desktop Virtualization: Analyzing its Energy Consumption Impact” can be solved through research.

In order to encompassing hardware and software systems which separates the personal computer desktop environment from the physical machine desktop virtualization, system modeling occurs - computer professionals and researchers build test environments. Anti-malware researchers might setup a quarantined computer network and launch potentially malicious software to understand its behavioral traits.

The identified research problem is important because the current era is the era of technological development, as the concept of desktop virtualization allows the user to run operating system on machines throughout the network, thus combining both the advantages of portability afforded by local hypervisor execution and of central image management. The researcher has the knowledge and expertise to conduct this study, as the researcher has keen interest and determination to explore the identified research area.

Time tends to be constrain for the researcher, but to cope-up with that the researcher have opted for qualitative methodology. Secondary data will help the researcher to find analyzed the identified problem.

Research Problem Statement

Large-scale modeling environments require systems that are easily configurable at an accelerated rate. The cost to acquire, setup, and maintain modeling environments increases in terms of hardware and person-hours as the number of modeled entities increases. Further, historical modeling solutions do not use available resources to their upmost potential(Brewster, 2009).

Successful technologies often result from creative synergy between seemingly unrelated fields. Desktop publishing, made possible by the combination of xerographic reproduction, lasers and low-cost graphics workstations, illustrates how three technologies can merge into a new market.
