Detective Series Essay

Introduction

When it comes to detective fiction, American female novelists like Sue Graftson are a must choice. This branch of fiction is particularly related with the investigation of a crime, usually murder, by a detective, professional or amateur. Detective fiction is the most popular form of both mystery fiction and hard crime fiction. In the detective series of Sue Graftson, we can see the undesirable characteristics or striking eccentricity typical of the author herself. It is not uncommon for detective fiction novelists to have an assistant often less able who acts as a substitute for the hearings to explain the mystery at the end of the story (Hawkes 1990). Sue Graftson's crime fiction series have a particular appeal from a wide array of fiction audience. In this essay, I explore the mystery series of Graftson with a particular focus on her hard-boiled detective character, 'Kinsley Milhone'. Most of the characterization of Graftson and her detective character are presented through my reading and learning of the first three sets of the series: "A" is for alibi, "B" is for burglar, and “C" is for corpse.

Why Kinsey Millhone is my Favorite Detective?

I could never determine my taste about any novel, movie or a song, but as I have no doubt regarding detectives: Kinsey Millhone is my favorite, the protagonist of the series of novels "The Alphabet Crimes ".  Kinsey Millhone is a private investigator, and must be somewhere around thirty-five years, has been divorced twice, is a former policeman, and lives in a tiny apartment that was once a garage and a little in love with her octogenarian landlord. This information is usually at the beginning of her novels and immediately falls nice to everyone. Kinsey does not care too much for your image: she always wears jeans and sneakers, odd dresses and hair cut herself with a manicure scissors. She's addicted to junk food and never cooks: her signature dish is pickle sandwiches with peanut butter. She lives in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, California, which in fiction is called Santa Teresa (Stassel ...
