Background

Coca-Cola is a company that produces carbonated soft drink which is sold in the restaurants, stores, and vending machines in almost all the countries across the world with the exception of North Korea and Cuba. Coca Cola manufactures the concentrate, and then, it is bought by the licensed Coca-Cola bottlers globally. These bottlers hold with the company, the territorially exclusive contracts and are charged with the responsibility of producing the finished product from the concentrate in bottles and cans by combining it with the sweeteners and filtered water. On several occasions, the company has launched numerous other cola drinks under its brand name. They include the Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Cherry, Diet Coke Caffeine-Free, Coca-Cola Vanilla, Coca-Cola Zero, and particular other versions with lime, lemon, or coffee (Stafford, Leon, 2012).

Coca Cola is mainly produced by the Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta, Georgia. In general terms, people usually refer to it as simply Coke, which is also a registered trademark of The Coca-Cola Company in the United States from the year March 27, 1944. The product was basically made to serve the purpose of a patent medicine at the time of its invention by John Pemberton in the19th century. Later, a businessman Asa Griggs Candler bough out the Coca-and it was is tactic of marketing a product which geared Coke towards the world dominance in the markets of soft drinks all through the 20th century. Currently, the beverage industry has been saturated and poses tough competition to Coca Cola. Coca cola's market values keep diminishing in the year 2012 too. Though, the present market conditions of the company do not appear to be too convincing, however, the company seems to have bright prospects of its future financial performance (Mark, 2000). In financial terms, it indicates growing dividends for its shareholders along with the revenue generation in future. However, in order to stand in the line of leading companies and the cutthroat rivals, Coca Cola is required to have a balanced leadership as well as new strategies and tactics.

It has always been a challenging task for the global corporations to build the organizational leadership in the present era and for the last several decades. However, in last few years, this issue has become more complex and stressful. The economy across the world has been hallmarked friendly trade practices, open trade, as well as the comparatively eased capital flow, lower cost labor, and the intellectual property has been a source of the marvelous benefits that have been brought to the customers along with the intense competition on a global level and among global organizations.
