Abstract

The study titled 'Development and Prevalence of English as a Language' is aimed to undertake a study to increase the understanding and knowledge of English as a language and its prevalence in the contemporary world. The literature search undertaken is aimed to report these developments while the primary search based on questionnaire survey is also conducted to gain the general awareness about the level of English language being used by different age groups and determine if academic background of a person and age can influence his/her understanding and choice of words in normal course of conversation.
