The workshop started about 9.00am in the morning and was to last for about 4hours. we started with a brief introduction by the tutor and then paired into groups for discussion purposes.specific task was shared amongst the various groups on what we thought the 6 top emergency priorities were. initially the task was not seen difficult by my group but as we got along we found out the priorities we listed out as our top keys was not all list out by our tutor, although we got some right.the obvious thing i observed was the advantage of working as a group, although everyone had their own point of view. different ideas were produced and i found out that the group participation made me feel more active about contributing to group discussions. the second part of the workshop started after the break. we given another task to plan an emergency management programme.

Disaster and Emergency Management training is generally conducted at local level by organisations involved in any response. This is consolidated through professional courses that can be undertaken at Emergency Planning College. Furthemore diplomas, undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications can be gained throughout country - first course of this type was carried out by Coventry University in 1994. The Institute of Emergency Management is the charity, established in 1996, providing consulting services for government, media and commercial sectors.

The continued occurrences of natural and man-made disasters in country raging from storms, fires and floods among others is creating great concern among many including Liberia National Red Cross Society and its partners. Due to these conditions, LNRCS began six-day training of trainers' workshop in disaster management capacity building on Wednesday, November 10, in Sanniquellie at newly constructed Disaster and EmergencyManagement Center.
