Dixon's Famous Chili is one of the oldest restaurant, family based business in Kansas City, Missouri. It is continuously based business, operated by women since 1900's. Women are playing a vital role in running the business from generation to generation. Despite of running the business from the decades, these women have to face the societal pressure and the life events have impacted them and their families, and they have struggle a lot in opening this family business. This case also hovers around the owner of the business who is facing divorce with three school aged children, whose business is also failing and have no other mean of income to support her family.

In the study, the family-owned small businesses and woman-owned businesses are used to reflect the concern of the study in the holistic context that include real world context for theory and model application. As this business is now owned by the fourth generation, the owner has faces several problems economically, and socially. It has been observed that there are several ups and downs in the economy and in this case, the divorced mother of three has several problems regarding maintaining the restaurant. The third generation has three parts and it continued to the fourth generation at this moment the young lady is getting problem in the leadership. Terri joined in 2004 as young girl. She is facing several problems and she want to sell the restaurant.
