Introduction

Don Quixote of La Mancha is a novel written by Spanish Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Published the first part with the title of “The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha” in early 1605, is one of the most outstanding works of Spanish literature and world literature (Saavedra, pp. 123), and one of the most translated. In 1615, the second part of Cervantes' Don Quixote with the title the ingenious gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha was published.

Don Quixote was the first work genuinely demystifying chivalric tradition and gracious, for burlesque treatment given to it. It represents the first literary work can be classified as modern novel and the first polyphonic novel, and as such, exercised overwhelming influence throughout the European narrative later. This essay focuses on the aspects of chivalry satirized by Miguel de Cervantes.

Discussion

The intention of this Novel Cervantes was satirizing the stories of chivalry. This creates a Don Quixote of La Mancha a man faithful to the stories of chivalry that loses sanity and creates a knight errant. And with that this comes his wild adventures each more hilarious than the last.

This leads him to see the novel not as full of hostility against the books of chivalry not more, but only its defects, so that Cervantes would be a champion of a purified horse, akin to the spirit of Spanish chivalry. In these terms Salva makes idea: "The purpose of Cervantes was satirizing the essence and substance of the books of chivalry, but purged of the absurdities and implausibility that expressed by the mouth of the canon". He wants to make the parody of novel to make everyone laugh at his ideas. The motivation is all about the fun and idea of the satirizing the chivalry's romance.
