Along with Heroin the 1970's was Cocaine's big break into American Culture. Throughout time Crack, a drug far more addictive then Cocaine, was introduced to the world. The 1970's was a time period that introduced a variety of substances, including Marijuana. The Marijuana, also known as a gateway drug, is the most commonly used drug in the United States. Marijuana was originally discovered in Mexico, however; as time passed marijuana expanded into the United States region. Methamphetamine, as well as marijuana, originated in Mexico and slowly slithered its way into American society (Salekin & Alexander, 2001).
