Introduction

In this era, the trend of child care centres is increasing in a rapid pace. Parents find it difficult to look after their children due to other responsibilities but they are worried enough for their care. This makes them to find a source that can take care of their children. While this can be a simple part in caring for your baby, it is the selection of the person who takes care of it. For example, you must decide if you will leave with a family member, a neighbour or a person who holds a license to care for babies. In any case you should make sure that the person must provide your child a safe and clean place.

In this paper, we will discuss the significance of positive interactions between children and its importance in childcare. Every aspect of the relationship would be reviewed and recommendations would be made. In the second part, we will highlight the importance of playing and how it aids the development child. The discussion would certainly enhance our knowledge on the development in the early stages of infancy.

Importance of Developing and Maintaining Positive Interactions

With the advancements in the field of developmental psychology and child care experts have realized the vitality of a positive relationship between the child and caregivers. More emphasis is being paid on the maintenance of a healthy relationship. “In order to establish a good rapport between the child and the childcare practitioner; parents need to play a proactive role” (Waisman, 1990, pp. 432). It can be achieved by inducing awareness about the importance of the relationship and its possible effect on the future life of the child. Experts on the early childhood development realize the importance of the issue and have proposed distinct measure for its achievement. The major developments in the field of early childhood development have taken place in the past few decades. “An authoritative approach should be used to induce compliance in the relationship” (Silverman et. al, 1998, pp. 27). The best way is to highlight the importance of the relationship and gradually amending the behaviour as desired.

A positive interaction between a child care practitioner and the child is necessary for a healthy development. This can be done by indulging with children into different activities that can help in their development. “Childcare practitioners can promote expressive and receptive language development by having talks with children during play, conversations and shared reading” (Kontos, 1991, pp. 439). This can be promoted by adopting elaborative techniques that will encourage children to share their feelings regarding any kind of activities they participated in.

Interaction between childcare specialists and children is critical to their development. In the practice of education are two types of interaction i.e. caregiver and child, typical of authoritarian and student-centred pedagogy.
