The divorce figures are very important. In Spain, it has grown and has reached the percentage of 30%. In USA, it is over 40% although the rate has gone down in recent years. This phenomenon is occurring, at least in the Western world. The statistics on the divorce rate of marriages gives an idea of ??the marriage failure rate, but only if the percentage is kept a number of years equal to the length of a marriage. Other data indicates that the divorce rate is only 10% in Spain. Sometimes, the questions are even raised on this factor which calculates the percentage of divorce rates. There is one thing which is understood by many people is that the impact of divorce is not only there on couple but on children as well. Children are a compelling reason to be good for the family and it even prevents separation of the couple. On the other hand, it is possible that the 10% who are dissatisfied is 30% of divorces. Under this scenario, the divorce rates have got lot of importance because it clearly describes the overall phenomena of any country. The causes of divorce and its effects on children is one if the biggest dilemmas faced by the population of any country. It is certainly a social issue which needs to be addressed by the people (Amato, 2000).
