Allergy & Immunology

Allergy and immunology physicians are medical doctors with extended training who specialize in the management and treatment of allergies, auto-immune diseases and asthma-related illnesses. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, patients whose symptoms are closely monitored and managed by an allergy and immunology physician generally make fewer overall trips to the doctor's office and tend to miss less work and school. Becoming an allergy and immunology specialist requires an average of at least nine years of study and training. (George Taylor 2008)

Anesthesiology

Anesthesiologist is a person who has studied medicine, and is qualified as a medical practitioner. For all manner of reasons, some of these newly qualified doctors decide to specialize in the field of anesthesiology, just as other newly qualified doctors decide to become surgeons, radiologists, internists, cardiologists, psychiatrists, venerologists, etc.

The duration of the specialization in anesthesiology varies from one country to another, usually lasting from three to five years, at the end of which the aspiring anesthesiologist must complete a difficult examination in all aspects of the field of anesthesiology.

The task of the anesthesiologist is not only to anesthetize people so that they do not feel the pain of surgery, but also to keep the patients under their care alive in spite of their sometimes life-threatening diseases, and in spite of the blood loss and/or tissue damage sometimes resulting from major surgery.

This is why well trained anesthesiologists possess a more than average practical knowledge of the functioning of the human body. Such knowledge enables anesthesiologists to accurately assess patients to determine their individual risk of anesthesia and surgery, as well as to choose the most appropriate anesthetic technique for the planned operation.

Colon & Rectal Surgery

Colon and rectal surgeons are experts in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of colon and rectal problems. They have completed advanced training in the treatment of colon and rectal problems in addition to full training in general surgery. Colon and rectal surgeons treat benign and malignant conditions, perform routine screening examinations and surgically treat problems when necessary.

Dermatology

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin and its diseases, a unique specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist takes care of diseases, in the widest sense, and some cosmetic problems of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails. Dermatologists have been leaders in the field of cosmetic surgery. Some dermatologists complete fellowships in surgical dermatology. Many are trained in their residency on the use of botox, fillers, and laser surgery. Some dermatologists perform cosmetic procedures including liposuction, blepharoplasty, and face lifts. Most dermatologists limit their cosmetic practice to minimally invasive procedures.
