Introduction

"Lesson" The realization of economic inequality in the 1960's eyes America is a young girl. In Sylvia, Bambara creates a proud, sensitive, tough girl who is too smart to ignore the realities around her, although she knows that may be easier to do it. At the same time, Bambara creates a lot of characters, each of which helps Sylvia to explore and demonstrate the issues faced by the poor and minorities in the United States.

Raisin in the Sun portrays a few weeks in the life Youngers, an African-American families living on the South Side of Chicago in 1950. When the play opens, Youngers are going to get an insurance check for $ 10000. This money comes from the life insurance policy to the late Mr. Younger. Each adult family member has an idea of what he or she wishes to do with the money. The ladies of the family, mom wants to buy a house, to fulfill a dream she shared with her husband. Mama's son, Walter Lee, it is better to invest that money in a liquor store with his friends. He believes that the investment will solve the financial problems in the family forever. Walter's wife, Ruth, agrees with her mother, however, and hopes that she and Walter can provide more space and opportunities for their son, Travis. Finally, Beneatha, Walter's sister and daughter, mother, wants to use the money for his medical training schools. She also wants members of her family were not so interested in joining the white world. Beneatha, and tries to find his identity by looking back at the past and in Africa (Jones, 1997).

"We Real Cool", of course, has a powerful message behind it. Gwendolyn Brooks illustrates the essence of troubled teenagers who will eventually suffer the unfortunate possibility that makes a person's life, if they continue to lifestyle streets - death.

Teens obviously not too fond of the school. Thus, they do not show, and find solace and joy in the pool facility. It seems that teenagers do not really care about their education and go every day to live carefree lifestyle. Luckily, they feel, playing pool supports this theory.

Discussion

In life, education is in all forms. The main theme of "Toni Cade Barbara Lesson" is that the most valuable lessons in the lives of those who did not learn in school. This is the story of educated black women, called Ms. Moore, who takes on the poor and disadvantaged children in the area of FAO Schwarz. Kids do not want to go, but are forced to go with their parents. This theme seems to be using the three characters Ms. Moore, Sylvia and Mercedes.
