Corporate partners Eli Lilly and Bayer Diabetes Care sponsored a four-year program called Project Hope to educate more than 5,000 Health Care Professionals in India to address the needs of nearly 41 million people in the country with Diabetes. The program is designed to help these health care workers reduce morbidity and mortality related to Diabetes and to combat the rapidly growing threat of Diabetes there(Goldstein, 2007). The multi-million dollar collaborative program will take place over a four year time period.
