Empathy can be defined as the emphatic consideration of others. Empathy is the prerequisite for the consciousness. Empathy is the capacity to recognize and share the feelings of others. Empathy is a very broad term. It involves the desire to help others. Empathy also involves considering the feelings and emotions of others (Zahavi, pp. 25).

Empathy involves obtaining detailed knowledge of the beliefs and perceptions of others. The consideration of others' beliefs must be irrespective to one's own values. This paper aims to discuss the importance of empathy in the military.

Military leaders possess a tendency to share experiences with the members of their organizations. When making plans, military leaders envisage the impact of their plans for their team and subordinates. It is also important for military leaders to envision the impact of their plan for the country.
