EMPIRICAL EVALUATIONS

Empirical Evaluations

Empirical Evaluations

Q NO 1

Software practitioners conduct empirical evaluations. It has been proposed recently like a methodology. It must be conduct because it helps practitioners in improving the adoption decision of technology in the given particular situation. This is very important for software practitioners as it generally includes the analysis and collection of data as well as experience that may be used to evaluate, reveals, and characterize relationships involving software development practices, deliverables and technologies (Rainer et.al, 2008). On the other hand, it is also expected that the result of such empirical evaluations will shape a body of facts and information leading to extensively accepted as well as well-formed theories.

Empirical evaluations are significant for the practitioners as it helps in risk management.

It also plays a vital role in the improvement framework which supports constant, systematic improvement of the existing software. The improvement is based on Quality Improvement.

Empirical evaluations demonstrated that the technique is practicable in industrial perspective as well as it also improves the confidence of participant in the risk (Rainer et.al, 2008).

Q NO 2

The evaluation is actually for the software development process. In particular, the evaluation of Prototypes will play a significant role in improving mistakes that are usually made in the early development phase. The evaluation of Software is used to test the usability of a user interface and to improve (Condori-Fernandez, 2009, pp. 502-505). May apply to the assessment of software between two types be differentiated from evaluation.

Most evaluations have certain similarities:

The starting point of an evaluation is the object of investigation, the object to be examined.

The object is to have certain characteristics or attributes. The future properties must be identified and formulated.

In a real process with the previously formulated egg compared characteristics of the object.

However, there may be several factors that may affect the process of empirical evaluation while it is being conducted. There may be difficulties in the following areas,

Lack of knowledge or exploratory studies

Problem in assessment studies

Testing hypothesis or manipulation experiments

Analysis of observation of the experiments

Taking decision

In conducting empirical evaluation the person may face difficulty as different factors may affect the process (Condori-Fernandez, 2009, pp. 502-505). The details are,

Lack of knowledge or exploratory studies

In conducting the empirical evaluation you may face problems as you do not have the much idea or basics of the fields. Lack of knowledge or exploratory studies is a factor that will affect the process as it give up causal hypotheses.

Problem in assessment studies

This will also be a significant factor disturbing the process of evaluations, as you have not studied the fundamental of software engineering you may feel trouble in the assessment studies which set up baselines, benchmarks, and ranges (Lanubile, 1997, pp. 97-108).

Testing hypothesis or manipulation experiments

Testing the hypothesis may be a significant factor that will disturb the evacuations. You may feel problems in manipulation experiments as this help to test hypotheses concerning causal influences.

Analysis of observation of the experiments

The next is observation experiments in which you can face problems due to the ...
