Introduction

Innovation is pivotal for survival in the corporate industry. Employees are the key drivers of innovation and the suggestions of the employees play a key role in the inception of these ideas. We will be evaluating the factors which facilitate in the employee participation in the suggestion process and will evaluate the European companies for discovering these factors. We will be recommending suggestions for the development of a favourable environment for the employees to take part in the suggestion process to boost innovation.

Background: Managerial Problem

The high cost of operations in the Western countries has forced the companies to focus on catering the niche market or to come up with innovative products. The companies are looking for reducing process and making their products more competitive in the market. The management cannot alone carryout performance tuning of the processes to reduce cost. The employees directly responsible for carrying out of process have an excellent understanding of the process and can better suggest the improvements in the process to increase efficiency, quality and reduce cost. The employees usually resist change as they get accustomed to the current processes. They also have to work additionally or become uncomfortable due to the measures taken to reduce cost. Besides some of these reason, it has been observed that employees due are reluctant to suggest changes due numerous reasons as lack of suggestion is in many types of companies which implies that organizational structure and policies also play a role in the lack of proposition volunteered by employees for innovations.

Research Objectives

Our focus will be to evaluate the employee motivation to make suggestion. We will be evaluation the following issues in the organization.

It will be reviewed the feedback given to employees on suggesting as it the feedback which motivates the employees to put in extra effort to analyse problems or opportunities and develop suggestions.

It will be intended to investigate the perception of the suggestion system to be instrumental in the motivation of employees to come up with suggestions.

It will be researched the relationship between well being of the employees and perception of motivation as the employees, as it can have an effect on making the suggestion.

The well being of the employees will also be evaluated as the employees who are satisfied from their work and life can easily focus to suggest improvements and innovations.

Literature Review

The environment is changing as well as the rise in competition in the global markets, both in the existing and new products besides the processes. These issues have made the innovation vital for the survival for the organizations (Amabile et al., 2005). The employee suggestion plays an important role in the innovativeness of the organization. The importance is mainly due to two main reasons, one as it advises the companies in reducing costs (Figueroa, 2000).
