Phonics

Phonics is the method of teaching children to read and write. It teaches primary school children that sounds are represented as letters and groups of letters. Synthetic phonics is regarded as the most successful method. When a child is learning to read, they are learning a code. Letters represent the symbols for the code, eventually they will be able to crack the code if they know what the symbols mean. There are two important processes that children are learning whilst they are being taught how to read. Firstly, the sound that they are learning is represented by written letters which they will eventually need to learn and also, how the sounds blend together to make words. Children learn to read by being taught letters and then eventually groups of letters by saying the sound that these letters represent.

The paper aims lays out a plan to address the needs of the child in the light of phonics and related strategies.

Discussion

Strategy for teaching phonics

Castilian and literature is one of the subjects that are most problematic within the overall program that has basic education, especially in the third stage, as it has a number of objectives that analyzing them from an external plane we realize that the four broad objectives, none mentions the phonetic mentions only one part of the syntax and some morphology. We must take into consideration that what is sought in these programs is that they contact and for that we are working on a research basis made ??by the student (which by the are concise step), producing different types of cards, reading works of different nature, periodicals, etc (Starrett 2006, 25-36).

The statements in the programs is interesting, however, I consider to be dig a little deeper into the study of language, that as we study the English (Accident verb conjugation, pronunciation, etc), is given the importance that is our code, studying and analyzing it as deep as the language abroad. My proposal is that instead of repeating a program with three consecutive years same objectives will deepen and extend these objectives as climb this year, introducing phonics skills that students know their phoneme awareness and learn to recognize the problems that ...
