1) A budget is a financial plan where revenue and expenditure are planned and itemized. A budgets purpose is to have a set goal that can be achieve within a set time. Forecasting or predicting expected future events and knowing where the revenue would come from and where the revenue should be spent is important to continue cash flow. There are two main types of budget; personal and government budgets. Personal budgets focuses on spending income on personal needs and wants of a household, the aim of a personal budget is to match income with expenditures-making ends meet.

Government budgets is a summary of revenue and expenditure collected from government tax and excises and should be approve by parliament, government budgets usually have political purposes along with economic purposes. Unlike a pure economic budget, government budgets are not fully aim to allocate its limited resources for the best economic use. Instead most government budgets have political purposes where the limited resources would be allocated to the governments special interest eg; Bush administration funding of faith-based initiatives.

Today's economy has had a profound impact on corporate budgets, including marketing. The budget is often cut, projects are placed on hold or funds are suddenly freed up. Therefore, marketing programs are constantly being adjusted to reflect these changes. As the company's grow, the goals may either become larger or in some cases remain the same as the budget for 2009-10 should remain at least equivalent to the 2008-09 spend. However, with measurable objectives and a strategic marketing plan the companies are still able to accomplish their objectives.

There has also been various other areas that have been reformed such as the tax for companies off shore, which is an attempt to increase competitiveness of Uk companies operating off sure. Or the increased drought relief which is truly deserved after the suffering and devastation of the worst drought in 100 years. This relief will aid the farmers of Uk which in return will increase production and therefore exports. Or the process of improving medicare to make it more affordable and accessible, including more doctors where needed. This would be considered a good thing, but after considering the services that have been applied to the public health system in recent years, the money supplied by the budget is only compensating the desperate attention already required. Other areas of the budget that affect the growth projections of Uk also include; help for people with disabilities, Uk's heritage, building sustainable industry and a energy reform.

Probably the most recognised part of the 2003/2004 budget would be the across the board tax cut.
