Factors That Influence Health

Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the different factors having an influence on the health of human beings. The paper also makes emphasis on the understandings of the term health inequalities and makes discussion on the one factor and its relation to health inequality.

1) Choose two factors that can influence health and discuss their influence on health

There are different factors having influence on the human health. These factors are mainly stress, social relationships, environment, smoking, education etc. The two factors chosen in this paper are stress and environment.

Stress

Researchers have estimated that in the United States, 43% of adults suffer from adverse effects of stress, and that between 75 and 90 percent of doctor visits are for conditions that have its relation in some way with this. Stress has its link with many of the leading causes of death such as cancer, heart disease, liver cirrhosis, pulmonary diseases, accidents and suicide. According to Dr. Paul Rosch President of the American Institute of Stress, Stress has become the most common health problem in the United States (Adair, 2009, p. 252). As we shall see, stress can have as one effect of a premature death and premature aging. Although stress is a natural phenomenon, beyond a heavy load stress can be harmful to health and balance of the individual. Enjoy in here to share things about stress and its effects on health. A person subject to daily and intensely stressful situations produce almost constant stress hormones (adrenaline and cortisol). Like a machine that would be applied beyond its actual capacity, the biological system eventually carried away and no longer effective. This "hyper-hormonal activation" results in a few weeks the symptoms. Under the effect of adrenaline, the heart is called to contract faster. This action has intentions to bring more blood to the muscles to ensure a more adequate response. The heart; therefore, works more as a result of stress (Laudenslager, 2003, p. 568). It can get carried away, as it can also beat irregularly. Angina is a concern, as well as hypertension. In severe cases of anxiety, there is often at risk of heart attacks. As a result of stress, the body releases more fat in the blood to bring more energy. This fat can be deposited in blood vessels and reduce their size. The body also produces more coagulants should an injury occur. These coagulants help to thicken the blood and increase the risk of heart attacks or strokes.

Environment

Human activities over the last 10 - 20 thousand years revealed almost the entire globe, but increasingly, any human activity is the main source of pollution.

Because of environmental pollution is a decrease in soil fertility, land degradation and desertification, loss of flora and fauna, the deterioration of air quality, surface water and groundwater. In total, this leads to the disappearance from the face of the earth entire ecosystems and species, deterioration of health and prolongs ...
