Family health care that is synonymous with the family service center is one approach to providing care. Along with the description of family health nursing, the importance of family, a change that has gone through a family and what constitutes a family in contemporary society will be discussed. Personal definition of family health nurses will also be provided.

Description of Family Health Nurses

What is family health care? Actions nurse performs on behalf of the family while participating in a unique situation of the family (Meyers, 2002). Family health is a dynamic state established aspects of the experience of family systems, which are or may be affecting the health of family members, it includes both health and illness in interaction with the environment (Meyers, 2002). Family health nursing is also referred to as a family at the center of care and can be defined as a way to care for families in medical services, which ensures that assistance is planned around the whole family, not just the individual, and in which all family members are recognized as recipient (shields, 2007).

Patient and family care center an innovative approach to planning, implementation and evaluation of health care, which is based on mutually beneficial partnerships between health care patients, their families, and providers. Patient and Family Assistance Center is used for patients of all ages, and this can be done at any medical facility.

Basic concepts of family centered care: dignity and respect. Health care practitioners listen to and honor patient and family perspectives and choices. Patient and family knowledge, values, beliefs and cultures are included in the planning and delivery of medical care.

Information Exchange

Health care practitioners communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and their families in ways that are affirming and useful. Patients and families receive timely, complete and accurate information in order to effectively participate in care and decision making.

Participation

Patients and families are encouraged and supported in participating in care and decision making at the level they choose.

Cooperation

Patients and families also included the establishment of scale. Health leaders collaborate with patients and their families in policy and program development, implementation and evaluation, health care facility design, and in professional education, as well as assistance (Institute for Family-centered care, 2007).

In providing family health nurse or family centered care nurse must include the entire family in the care provided.

Importance of Family

The word "family" refers to two or more persons who are related in any way biologically, legally and morally. Patients and families define their families (Institute for Family-centered care, 2007). The importance of family is changing with each individual on the basis of background rights and personal needs.
