Moreover, fashion is ever changing, which has allowed many businesses to expand by retailing it. Retail has been the platform on which fashion has been displayed for the consumer. Since the emergence of quality couture (stitched outfits) has taken the world by storm, the retailing concepts have developed over time to cater to the market needs. As we enter the new decade, the fashion business like the rest of the world faces technological and economic factors, but despite such pressures, fashion retail concepts seem to have more opportunities (Barnes, 2006, p.259).

Therefore, many decades ago, when fashion giants such Christian Dior, Versace, YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) made headlines, their marketing and retailing was done through sheer public relation and also through word of mouth. But in today's day and age, the internet being the fastest medium has given an opportunity to the many emerging designers to use as a retailing outlet for their customers in their local and foreign markets alike. Through the internet and technological enhancements, these emerging designers who use their aesthetic sense and amateur skills are able to cater to a vast majority of clients all over the world.
