The study with regards to Analytic Culture in the U.S. Intelligence Community has been conducted by the writer. It has been portrayed that changes need to be implemented in Intelligence Community, and also to change the requirements. Focus of the previous IC was laid on the enemy, and a method was used by the Soviets to set the objectives. However, there are new threats that need to be addressed. Moreover, I also believe that the threats keep on coming and the entity has to be strong enough in order to protect it from the strategies that are being planned by the enemies to cause destruction. This is more important because the civil issues are not being addressed. A military term called “green layer” has been used by the writer which describes the entities that are not friendly and not enemy. This means that there are countries that exist that are not friendly with the US and also cannot be counted as enemies. However, in my opinion, the country must try to have friendly terms with them or to treat them as enemies. This is because if any other country goes against the US, they may try to get help from that country or entity which will add to the enemies of the country. It is better for US to understand the concept of green layer and to plan strategies to combat it.

The writer has talked about the role that intelligence community plays in providing security to the country. In my opinion, the intelligence community plays a very crucial role and it should be strong to ensure that the country is secure from any threats or unwanted issues that may arise. The writer has made a comparison of the intelligence career field with astronautics or surgery. It has been argued by him that intelligence work is cognitively-demanding and the profession is risky. This is because a strong intelligence community can strengthen the position of the country and the weaker one can serve as a risk. Since the risk is very high, it is essential for the intelligence officers to ensure and to work hard to provide protection. In my opinion, the writer is correct when he says that the job is risky since they have to provide protection. However, it is not wise to compare the profession with the other professions. This is because every profession has its own roles and importance as well as the risks that are involved with them. Moreover, since the department has to keep secrets and to ensure that the confidential information is not leaked, there can also be such professionals that ...
