Generating Antibody Repertoire

Antibodies are perfect for utilization in drug therapy, because they have very specific roles that they play in biological systems. They can be characterized as a Y-shaped, that the proteins are composed of four polypeptide chains. Accommodation in the hands of the Y two identical light polypeptide chains and the stem of the Y consists of two heavy polypeptide chains. The light polypeptide chains make up the weapons known as Fab (fragment for Antigen binding) and function of antibodies recognizing the target or antigen (generation antibody molecules) (Christensen, 2005).

Stems in Y are called the FC part of the antibody. In the stem primary role is to communicate with the human immune system so that it initiates a series of immunilogical answers. They began immunilogical responses include ADCC (Antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity), in which certain human immune system cells via binding to FK binding receptors specific antibodies. These immune cells then signal to destroy the aggressor's face, the molecule or the whole cell, in which the antibody is linked (Heneghan, 2003). Supplement system is another immune response, which may be initiated if the number of blood proteins associated with FC, and then cause the destruction of the invading end. An important factor in the effectiveness of antibody therapy is that of FC also provides long-Half-Life of the antibodies in the blood (Heneghan, 2003).

The functions of the immune system are to protect the body from foreign invaders that can cause disease. The immune system consists of cells, tissues, organs and systems of the body that fight bacteria, viruses, harmful chemicals, and cancer cells.

The skin functions as a protection against disease due to the millions of beneficial bacteria that live on your skin (Luckey, 2003). This is your first line of defense, killing many types of harmful bacteria. When there is a break in the skin, your body is not defenseless. Several other systems of the body stay healthy. First, the circulatory system contains white blood cells that capture and digest foreign organisms and chemicals. If the white cells can not destroy the bacteria, and fever may develop. A fever may help to combat the pathogen. Secondly, the respiratory system contains cilia and mucus to trap pathogens (Hahn, and Pruder, 2004). In the digestive system, enzymes in the stomach, pancreas, liver and destroy pathogens.
