Introduction

Greek states were intermittent under the Macedonian control. Independence was gained by Rhodes, Athens, Pergamum and others which joined Aetolian League. Southern Greece was controlled by Achaean League. Sparta was independent and refused to join any league. Chremonidean War started with the purpose of Greek cities to go against the Macedon. This happened after the Athenian leader Chremonides. This war made Athens lose independence and democratic institutions.
