Green Energy

Introduction

Green Energy

It is a form of energy, produced in such a manner, which has a very low impact over the environment as compared to other energies such as fossil fuels. Most of the existing fuels that are currently in use have some very dangerous side-effects. One of the major tasks of the green Energy is to make the methods used for the production o f the fossil fuel energy much more cleanly. Scientists have been trying to find methods for extracting energy from fossil fuels with a lot less amount if side effects. There is an essential need for the governments of the world to put some sanctions against such dangerous and harmful gases polluting the environment, because these are damaging the economy of the world very inadequately (Adams, K et.al. , 2008).

Types of green energy

Hydropower

This green energy is produced by the conversion of river water into a usable form of energy, which is released from the turbines. Before its introduction as a commercial electric power, it previously was used for the purpose of irrigating the lands and for other mechanical operations. Through this energy, mills and water wheels produce flour. It is a very expensive form of energy, as it is quite pricey to set-up a hydro power plant for the production of energy in a bulk. There are also some criticisms regarding this form of green energy, such as introducing this energy would affect the quality of water, along with that it will also affect the wildlife.

Geothermal

This form of green energy is produced from the hot water or the steam lying underneath the earth's crust. The steam is used to provide power to the electric generators through the rotation of turbines. It is currently been used for heating up buildings. It is still produced on a very small scale due to the lack of availability of natural sites for required for its production. It is branded as a green energy because of its ability of low emission. It can be produced under any circumstances, as it does not matter whether it is day or night hot or cold it can be produced under all types of weather.Although, there are some concerns regarding this energy as it may affect the sustainability of the surrounding lands.

Hydrogen

It is another eco-friendly form of green energy. It can be used to produce massive amount of energy through water and electricity. Previously hydrogen was supposed to be a very dangerous form of energy to be used as a fuel, but now hydrogen is becoming a source of producing fuel for the vehicles. It produces no emission when used in its purest form, as instead of any harmful chemical only water is released by its emission. Like all the other green energies, it too is very expensive to produce and store.

Solar

It is another form of green energy. The photovoltaic cell absorbs the light from the sun in order to capture the electron for the generation of electricity. The sun has been one of the most ...
