The purpose of this paper is to make the reader aware about the various aspects related to the psychological impact over the patients. The article of Joan Emerson will also be utilized in relation with the social constructionism. The gynecological examination will be assessed in relation with the social constructionism which is virtually unique in exposing the link between the public and private behavior. It is important to realize that women are usually more comfortable in revealing their private parts to lady doctors in comparison with male gynecologists. The picture depicts that a woman is arranged to have a gynecological examination. In my opinion, exposing their private parts is always a questionable thing to a woman. Women are normally quite hesitant in gynecological examination, especially in eastern countries or Islamic world. However, this picture depicts that a woman is getting her gynecological examination from a female gynecologist. There might be a variety of reasons for this gynecological examination. Moreover, it is extremely important to realize that during a gynecological examination, women tend to go through some sort of psychological impact as well. Women who are normally shy or introvert hesitates to expose their private parts to anyone.

Joan Emerson utilizes social constructionism to explain the gynecological examination and that the gynecological examination is virtually unique in exposing the link between public and private behavior.
