Abstract

The Agency for Health care Research and Quality (AHRQ) is one of the 12 agencies running in the United States. AHRQ has a mission to enhance the quality, to ensure safety, and to maximize efficiency of heath care system for all the citizens of United States. Our literature includes the discussion of mission of AHRQ, budget planned for AHRQ, the strategic plan that helps achieving the missions. It also includes the discussion of the methods being run by Agency of Health care Research and quality in order to control the quality of health care and ensure the improvement in health care system.

Mission of AHRQ

The mission of AHRQ is to enhance the quality, safety, efficiency and health care for all the citizens of United States. It has been working for the improvement of health care services to all the U.S. citizens. AHRQ works to improve health care system by building the knowledge based heath care practices which can assist in daily practice. The role of AHRQ to assist the health care practitioners and the final conclusion to support the AHRQ plan is also discussed briefly.

Budget of AHRQ

The budget of AHRQ as appropriated by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is $1.1 billion. AHRQ appropriated an amount of $400milion to the National Institutes of Health, $400 million to DHHS, and $173 to HHS Secretary out of $1.1 billion. AHRQ was rewarded with $473 million in order to give support to Health care decision plans (Carolyn M. Clancy, 2012).

Strategic Plan
