Introduction

Ethnic conflicts are considered to be the most common and old form of socio and political tension of the world and it is impossible to find any nation free from these ethnic conflicts, it has been observed from the previous study that during the period of 1945-1980 all the ethnic conflicts have caused the lives of thousands of innocent people from major countries of the world. Just from the start of twenty first century, all the countries of the world are trying to ensure that the future generation of their Country lives a healthy life by forgetting about all the socio and political tension of the past. With all the efforts the effects of the socio and political tension is still showing on the world and is getting worse day by day. In order to resolve the issues several talk process has been initiated by the respective countries but all of these steps has raised the conflicts with in the states, hence with the passage of time the hopes of people of all over the worlds have increased and to fulfil these hopes countries need to come up with new and improved policies to deal with all the previous and current ethnic and political issues. (Rupesinghe, 1988).

The major drawback of all ethnic conflicts is that the poses a great threat not only to the stability and peace of the country but also to the stability and peace of all international countries, as the reason of these conflicts all the other important elements of the country loses its focus and attention. These conflicts if not encounter at the early stage by the law enforcement agencies will give birth to other criminal activities like, extremism, terrorism and small crimes like robbery, kidnapping and others.

The Roots of Ethnic Conflicts

All the forms of Ethnic conflicts are found in almost all multinational countries and the political government of these Countries particularly of European states have implied several techniques with in their power to resolves these issues, on the other hand were unable to resolves several major issues which later on become more dangerous and are still affecting the progress of these states. In is important to first understand the term ethnic conflicts properly and with the passage of time several definition of this term has surfaced, but the most significant and effective explanation of this term was given by (Kaufmann, 1990) the term ethnic conflicts includes all events occurring between different communities of the state who generally considered themselves as different from others, this explanation was further enhanced by another scholar who explained that all disputes including social, political, cultural, and others falls in the category of the ethnic conflicts (Brown, 1993).
