Introduction

Mark Twain's novel, “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court” Where Yankee was a product of 19th century and hates the unfairness that used to be in the sixth-century institutions of inherited rank and social stratification. As he was an idealist toward the power of technology and believes that this power can improve the lives of the people who were living in that era and might change the history. However, if I got a chance to change history of a destination, it would be Victorian Britain, circa 1840 CE. The reason I chose this destination is due to the war took place which known as The Boer War. The primary objective was to kill the Boer republics who threatened to block the English domination in South Africa. Due to this war many the Boer republics killed and hence, they severely wounded and in the end they surrender to the British because they were lacking the essential for the fights which forced them to surrender (Churchill, 1900).

The Boer War, a term that refers to conflicts that occurred in South Africa in the late nineteenth century between the British and the inhabitants of the Boer republics independent. The Boer War was the last war of the Victorian era. It was not simply a colonial war. It was a modern conflict that made extensive use of railroads, telegraph, telephone and artillery, heavy gauge. In addition to half a century that Britain was not fighting against an enemy target, and nearly one hundred who had to make a military effort too great. England fought to ensure its sovereignty in South Africa as part of an empire that covered one sixth of the world. The primary objective was to kill the Boer republics (Transvaal and the Oranje Vrijstaat) that threatened to block the English domination in South Africa. The immediate cause of the war was the relationship between the republic of the Transvaal and mining companies and those working in it, where civil rights denied by the, apart from the imposition of heavy taxes on mineral production and imports of materials needed mining industries. The Boers however, did not give up for two years, but their command, led by a generation of young leaders as Jan Smuts, a brilliant lawyer, Louis Botha, ordinary farmer and brilliant military continued a war of skirmishes and guerrilla warfare, assaulting peoples poorly. The British garrisons through cutting railway lines and telegraph made helpless (Barnes, 2003).

The British columns were unprepared for a war and could not finish with the rebels. In the end, hunger, disease and shortage forced the last Boers, and due to this many dressed in rags to surrender themselves. In a large meeting of the heads Boers held in Vereeniging, on the border of the Transvaal and the Oranje Vrijstaat announced one after another that they had almost no cattle to eat, horses are dying of weakness.
