Hospital Design and Staff Performance

Hospital Design and Staff Performance

Outline of the Study

This research proposal tends to discuss the issue staff performance with relation to the hospital design. A critical review of key factors within the hospital design that impact the staff performance will be discussed within this research proposal. The first chapter will provide an introduction to the topic including the purpose and significance of the study. The next chapter will cover the methodology for this study. The review of the research proposal will be presented in the last chapter concluding the study (Veloski et al 2006).

Background of the Research

This research remains extremely important for the purpose of improving the staff performance through making important changes within the hospital design. This research will facilitate the staff of hospital to make better decisions regarding their performance levels and appropriate measures to improve performance. For instance, the aspect of occupational health and safety can be explored and clarified to the hospital staff. Lastly, a measure that hospital staff can take for promoting the maximum quality performance levels and practices within the hospital placements will be suggested (Anonymous, 2006).

Problem Statement

These days, the most important concern of every hospital is related to the performance of its staff. Various important issues are being neglected from the part of staff which results in serious consequences for the hospitals. For instance, the infection control precautions and compliance with these precautions is assumed to be low in the hospital practices as researched. The basic reasons identified behind the non compliance of the infection control precautions are assumed to be the lack of proper knowledge, lack of positive role model, lack of proper equipment and also the staff shortage (Kathleen & Toros, 2011).

Aims and Objectives

The primary aims related to the research are;

-To explore the relationship between hospital design and performance of staff.

-To explore the relationship between infection control and occupational health and safety.

-To analyze various important aspects of hospital design that impacts the performance of staff positively.

-To analyze various important aspects of hospital design that impacts the performance of staff negatively.

-To explore the measures through which the current hospital designed can be altered for the purpose of improving the staff performance.

Methodology

Research Method

The study would be following the mixed methodology. That is, both the qualitative and the quantitative methods will be used in this study. The primary research will involve the data collected through survey and the secondary data will also be used for the analysis of the study. The analysis techniques used are the collection of the data using the multi-method technique or ...
