Since the early nineties the scientific field of disability has been flooded with numerous theoretical publications, articles and books, made ??by academics from the UK and U.S. The academics and activists in the UK put together all work and present a social model or theory of disability. The social model argues that the concept of disability is a 'Social construction' imposed and presents a vision of disability as a class oppressed, with a severe criticism of the role played by professionals and defense of an alternative political rather than scientific.
