When teaching, educators are concerned with giving learners access to information and helping learner's master skills. Traditionally, educators have lectured as a way of teaching. In fact, lecture has been the most widely used method of teaching. In a lecture, a teacher discusses information and learners take notes. Instructors who use creative teaching methods employ nontraditional and non-lecture-style strategies to help learners gain skills and access information. Creative teaching techniques are providing students to learn English easily and also make them to retain it for a longer time period (Jaques, 2000).

There are many ways in creative teaching techniques but the most effective technique is to make children write short story. This technique has many benefits we will be discussing it in this section.

Write a Short Story

Educators can have students write a short story to help students gain a greater understanding of a historical event or to practice a writing skill. Teachers can begin by having students read fiction that discusses the historical event or that models the language arts convention being studied. For example, in a history lesson about the Holocaust, students can read Lois Lowry's "Number the Stars." In an English lesson about compound complex sentences, students can read Virginia Woolf's "Mrs. Dalloway." Students in history can then write a story that uses facts and references to illuminate circumstances in the Holocaust (Fry & Ketteridge, 2000). Students in English can write a story that employs complex sentence structure to convey mood.
