Introduction

Plastic is a type of material that includes polymers in it as its main ingredient; it is molded into a shape by heating while processing and after that it becomes solid hard material in final form. Plastics can be prepared by using several different types of polymers, and they can also be developed by using several different processes, but on condition that they comply with the three states, they will be the authentic plastics. Normally the formula for making plastics of every type is a mixture of three ingredients: one or more additives, plasticizers and a polymer, all there three ingredients are mixed together and then processed; they can be given any shape, which results in wide range of different materials possessing different properties. (Hoff, 2005)

Technologically it has become possible to produce plastic with the use of green plants instead of fossil fuels. Researchers are hoping for these plastics to be environmental liberators. The calm and peaceful idea of growing plastic, practicable in the predictable future, looks extremely amazing than producing plastic in the petrochemical factories, which almost takes about 270 million tons of gas and oil for production of plastics each year around the world. The fossil fuels present raw material and power, which converts the crude oil to usual plastic for instance; polypropylene, polyethylene and polystyrene. (Steven, 2001)The use of plastics is very important in our day to day life, and it has become very difficult to think life without the use of plastics from soda bottles to milk jugs, from plastic pots to decors, but the continuity of its production has called for the question. The identified global assets of oil are projected to be dried in almost 80 years, for natural gas it will take 70 years and for coal approximately 700 years, but the economic influence of its reduction can strike very soon. As soon as these natural resources will come to an end, their prices will escalate, which has not distracted from the consideration of policy makers.

Researchers and bio chemical scientist's were very much concerned about finding a way of growing plastics in plants. The technological advancements has appeared to be the ultimate outcome of finding the ways for plant based plastic, and they would be green in couple of ways; it would be produced with the help of renewable source and gradually it would be broken down or biodegrade on disposal. Some other kinds of plastics have also been made from plants that possess same attraction. (Clarke, 2001)The research in recent times has elevated some uncertainties regarding the use of these approaches. Biodegradability has some concealed cost, the biological decomposition of plastics discharge methane and carbon dioxide, heat confining greenhouse gases, which are intended to reduce at international level. But fossil fuels are still required to influence the procedure which is useful in obtaining the plastic from plants.
