The field of human services is a respectable career field which is broadly defined as, distinctively approaching the objective of serving and meeting human needs and by applying interdisciplinary knowledge base, by focusing on redemption as well as on prevention of problems and maintaining a dedicated commitment for improving the overall quality standard of life of service populations. The human services is a profession which promotes and support the delivery of the improved delivery systems by not just addressing the quality of the services but also by continuously seeking to improve accountability, accessibility, and coordination among the agencies and professionals in service delivery. Nursing is a profession considered as a highly esteemed profession. Nursing focuses on the health care of individuals, communities, and families so as they can recover and maintain optimal healthy life.

The nurse plays a pivotal role in the lives of the people by helping them, out to regain the health and continue their living a normal and healthy individual. Nursing, especially in mental health plays a vital role, the patients of mental health are the ones who require extensive nursing services and most of the time they are totally dependent on nursing service in order to continue their living (Sacks, 2003). From bedside nursing in hospitals and long-run care facilities to the halls of research institutions, state legislatures, and Congress, the deepness and breadth of the nursing profession is gathering the expanding health care needs of American society. Attitudes, beliefs, and values are highly subjective areas, usually based upon insight and not fact. Perceptions held by the public about the nursing profession greatly leverage the personal and public image of nursing.

Discussion

Nursing, especially in mental health plays a vital role, the patients of mental health are the ones who require extensive nursing services and most of the time they are totally dependent on nursing service in order to continue their living (Gehlert, 2006). Nurses should be full partners, with physicians and other health care professionals, in redesigning health care. Considering health as a right and a right of which man is responsible, has implications for the future nursing, particularly in establishing relationships with community, family and individual. Consequently, nurses will go to health systems in efforts to develop mechanisms and real action to promote community participation in health care. Therefore, their strong partnership is significantly important for redesigning healthcare.
