Introduction

It is ironic how a person feels that the key to success and flourishing is incessant hard wok and constant productivity, yet a person would try to give in all his efforts, to balance every thing, right from his family, to money, to his other resources, and still be at the top of the work with respect to his efficiency and performance. However, the real challenge occurs while actually devising a balance between those aspects of life.

Three Day Work Week and the Core Concept behind It

Conceptually, the phenomenon of a three day work week did not take birth in the recent years. The inception of this concept goes back to early '70s, when the British conservative government opted to seek an approach and a system, via which they would be able to conserve one of the most vital energies, i.e. electricity. Via this approach, the industrial and other vital sectors were confined to operate only three days a week, and that too with not longer hours. Institutes, such as hospitals, education and newspaper were excused, from following this regulation. The core concept lies in relinquishing the unneeded waste of electricity, and preserving it, so that not only can it be used for prolonged periods, but also opting to be equally productive in the limited time, as the workforce and industries would be throughout the week (N.D, 1974).
