Introduction

Education has faced race, gender and ethnic problems for many years. This continuous problem in all most likelihood will not be solved. Educational issues involving race, gender, and ethnicity of all schools will always cause controversy in society as long as there is prejudice and hatred. Education should not look at ones race. We are who we are because that is the way that God intended us to be. Many blacks are prejudice and have hatred in their hearts for things that happen in the past that this generation has no control over. I believe that we all are equal and should be treated equal in every aspect. Every race has a right to the best educational opportunity available.In this essay we analysed Identity Issues including Gender, Race, Ethnicity in education.

Analysis

Racism can be formed on the singular idea that some people are inferior to others and can be seen as a system of power around which other supporting ideas like racism are based. Racism nourishes practices, which discriminate against minorities and contribute to their unequal positions in Britain (Jack Selzer and Dominic, pp 11-190). Moreover, there are many spheres of life where the ethnic minorities are faced by discriminatory practices such as education. Where people have tended to disagree provides reason for this disparity and the means of eliminating it. They have all failed to identify the huge variation in the attainment of ethnic minority students individually. All the research conducted so far has tended to focus on the low academic attainment of ethnic minority pupils as a whole, rather then looking at each as an individual (Sanders, pp 34-99).

Helping students understand and appreciate the complexity of ethnicity and race and racism is certainly a class lecture in itself. Teachers of psychology can help students recognize the influence of ethnic identity. Begin by helping them to understand easily confused terms such as racism, prejudice, race and ethnicity. Despite evidence that there is only one human race, with many variations on that one race, the term race generally assumes biological differences that are most evident in physical appearancesa kind of pseudosubspeciation (Burchell & Millman, pp 12-89).

Race has social meaning often accompanied by stereotyping; it suggests ones status within the social system and introduces power differences as people of different races interact with one another. Ethnicity, on the other hand, connotes common culture and shared meaning. It ...
