Immigration means entrance of a person into a new country for the purpose of establishing enduring residence. Motives for immigration, like those for migration usually, are often financial, whereas religious or political factors may be very important. High rates of immigration are often escorted by militant, and sometimes brutal, calls for immigration restriction or deportation by nationalist groups.
