Introduction

During the past few decades, several organizations have emerged offering assisted living option for seniors. Realizing the importance and potential of this growing sector, Assisted Living Foundation has been formed, and with the consent of the board of the directors of the foundation, I have become the CEO of the organization. Assisted living has become one of the best alternatives for senior to live a healthy life. However, with the growth of the industry several facilities for assisted living have emerged, increasing the competition (Porter and Teisberg, 2011). Assisted Living Foundation or ALF operates facilities in every major city of the states. Since, ALF is a not for profit organization and is competing with other not for profit organizations. However, there is a fact that competition among these organization exist. The simple reason is that, every organization works to become best, and customers or consumers are the one who defined the success of an organization (Nundy, 2010). More satisfied seniors in ALF means, that company will grow its center, will be able to serve more people, will be able to attract more donors etc and ultimately will get more recognition.

Every organization that offers assisted living facilities is considered a potential competitor for ALF, because each of them has potential to attract the existing and potential customers of ALF. To adequately cater the growing competition needs, Board of Directors has assigned the task to CEO to present a plan for improving the strategic position of the organization.

The company aim to enhance the delivery of healthcare settings at every level, throughout the world.

Analysis of Present Products or Services and Position of Organization

The present services offered by every facility of ALF include personal and residence care to the individual who are in need of assistance of professionals to perform their daily activates. The assessment of the response of the individuals along with increase in the customers indicates that the organization is on the growth track. The number of people obtained the services of ALF has increase 15 per cent from last year, which further consolidate the claim that the company is growing.

Developing corporate-level strategy

There are two types of strategies. These include business strategies and corporate strategies. Business strategies can be defined as to how we will address the needs of customers and which customer market segments we will serve. The business strategies of ALF are performing well according to present situation of healthcare industry. However, with increase in competition it is vital for ALF to restructure its strategy so that growing competition will not affect the ALF's present position. Providing high quality care services combined with well educated and trained staff helps ALF to strengthen its brands. ALF also makes endeavors to charge very minimal amount for the patients, in order to avoid them the pressure of paying high cost for healthcare.
