Introduction  

One of America's most prominent cultural values, as checked by Poranee Natadecha- Sponsel in her article Individualism as an American Cultural Value, is individuality. She conceives that the way we are raised instructs us to become independent as well as individualistic in our every day lives, different in Thai culture. This can be considered in everyday social situations. In America, greetings or salutations are very generic plus superficial. For instance, a very ordinary American greeting is “How are you?” and the single answer that most people in actuality desire to hear is “Fine.” Thai culture has greetings that are sincere and demand exact information of a person. According to the author Americans use their privacy to encourage individualism starting as infants.

American children frequently have their own bedrooms throughout their lives, while Thai children share bedrooms until they stop high school. American individualism can also be seen in how Americans serve, get ready, and have their meals. In Thai culture, everyone takes small portions from one big serving dish, but in American culture every person has their own personal plate. Individualism is also sparked by wealth. American children are taught to be monetarily independent at a young age in order to permit for more freedom. just in poor Thai families do children work before they come to an end their education. In American families, the accountability looks to simply be to the individual person. Thai households encompass all generations of family, living plus taking care of each other while Americans appear to value above all else, personal attainment and financial success in order to maximize independence and individualism.
