Abstract

The paper is integrative learning project. In this paper, I have chosen an organization that is Tesco, as I am familiar. In this paper, I apply the eight key concepts. The paper discusses eight key concepts in Tesco. The paper highlights the organizational settings. The paper explains the mission of Tesco. The paper also discusses customer of Tesco. The paper highlights the internal and external analysis of Tesco. The paper also adds value to the organization. The paper mentioned Tesco products. The paper selects eight different key concepts from the textbook that seem to be most applicable to Tesco. The other main discussion of the paper is a comprehensive description of how this concept would benefit Tesco. The paper highlights the eight Key Concepts that are: Monitoring and Control, Customer Value, Strategy and Competitiveness, Quality, Suppliers, Work Force, Benefits of Lean and Forecasting. The paper provides a comprehensive description, and benefit it may offer to Tesco.

Organizational Setting

Tesco is a significant international retailer. As a global business, the company perceives itself as having a vital role to play in helping to minimize its environmental impacts.

Mission of Tesco

'Their core purpose is to create value for customers to earn their lifetime loyalty'

Customer

The main interest of customers and consumers from Tesco PLC are to gain the utmost customer satisfaction and avail the best quality products and services with maximum benefits and satisfaction.

External Analysis

We can make an analysis of the external environment of Tesco PLC through the Porter's five forces model. From this model, we can see that competition in terms of suppliers is very high; therefore, the bargaining power of suppliers affect the environment of Tesco PLC. As the competition is very high, and there are many other retail stores; therefore, customers bargaining power is very high as customers have the option to go for others (Avery, 2005). New retail stores are entering in the market bringing threats for the company. Because of new entries in the market, Tesco is afraid of the arrival of substitute products in the market. There is a very high chance of arrival of substitute products in the market. Competition is increasing in the market day by day, and the competitive rivalry is increasing for Tesco.

Internal Analysis

Strengths

Availability of highly trained staff, having the required expertise and quality service.

Tesco has a large and comfortable infrastructure that offers a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere to customers.

Tesco offer personalized services to its clients thus offering its clients to feel that they are getting services on priority.

Opportunities

Growth potential in domestic, regional and international

Improving the skills of workers

Improve communication among various sectors.

The potential demand of Tesco has a very high level purchasing power with the intention to utilize it in leisure activities.
