Research in investigation of discourse has dropped lightweight that has produced many facets of repetition in discourse. Data analysis shows that forms and functions that repetition within and across different settings in both quantitative and qualitative senses. For example, another repetition prevails in classroom, while it is more frequent repetition in other two settings. From the functional perspective, other repeats play important semiotic functions in conversations and in interviews, but no evidence of this paper as meaning making processes in classroom. Alignments are also discussed various measures taken by student and consequences that these alignments can have on interaction, both ideational and interpersonal. We argue that, through repetition, participants in context of interaction of how they position themselves in relation to what is said and done, and in relation to other participants in interaction. Finally, we discuss pedagogical implications of our findings and suggest ways to maximize incorporation of repetitions in language classroom.
