CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

This paper examine the leadership approaches used in a public health setting by analyzing different issues of public health sector and then evaluate the factors which have an impact on the role of leader in public health sector and in the last will discuss own leadership skills. Public health has no stronger claim on limited resources and attention than, among other matter, health care, public safety, defence, education, or economic development. What public health does have are convincing claims on resources and public awareness that can and should be made more successfully.

As the issues facing organizations became more complex, leadership theories began reflecting the dynamic and multifaceted nature of leadership issues. Theories began describing the importance of values in leadership behaviour, suggesting that leadership serves and helps people, improves situations, and brings everyone involved to a higher moral place. In addition, the practice of leadership became a focus of study, and leadership scholars claimed that the complexities of contemporary issues and the demands on individuals and groups required a deeper attention to learning, adapting, and self-awareness.

CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

Leadership

Leadership could be defined essentially as the ability to positively influence other human beings to achieve a purpose whatsoever. If one look carefully, in recent years there has been a significant interest in all cultures around the world for leadership, especially the human group business, after these came the educators, politicians, etc. and to the philosophical and reflective progress that has reached the issue, the leadership has strengthened and become a necessity in an alternative mediator of achievement and human potential manager. The leadership is then the process of influencing people to achieve their goals. (McCauley, 2003)

The leadership is a crucial issue today where the borders were opened to trade globally, where organizations and companies are constantly in a constant struggle to become increasingly competitive, which has meant that the people who are up efficient and able to be a way for the welfare of the organization or company. Speaking of organizations and individuals it is essential to mention the drivers, today's leaders who achieve the success of their organizations and to guide their subordinates to achieve. The leader as every person has many flaws and virtues that he must know. This means first looking within oneself, to know and then understand others and reflect on what one want to accomplish. This analysis leads us to understand and then meet each other and thus improve our performance as leaders, we are to benefit personal and / or our organization. (Killan, 2005)
