Abstract

IT Project management today is everywhere, practiced by all in every country thus the new definition of project management consists of a lot more substance. The advent of new technology has modified many businesses being a significant factor for many. The work environment has been fundamentally changed by the use of computer hardware, software, networks and interdisciplinary and global work teams. The importance of project management in today's society can be portrayed by the following statistics. IT projects involve the usage of hardware, software and/or networks to create a product or service. Information technology projects have multiple components or subprojects, that if not well identified, and especially assigned or charged, effectively making the duration and the cost thereof to be raised much higher, if it is meeting its objectives of functionality and service originally specified. Now it has provided a little more execution of such projects as software houses (SAP, Oracle, JDEdwards, etc.) have chosen to offer implementation schemes "fast", that is instead of taking the 18 took 24 months to implement a basic solution, have resolved many of the variables in the implementation process and implementation processes have been developed about 4 to 6 months.
