Introduction

The secret of this growth was to share the economic fortunes of the company with its employees-workers who became shareholders owners. Economic development was such that in the forties, the company bought the provincial departments of neighbouring rival Selfridges.

THE department store in Oxford Street is the place where the original little shop was founded in 1864. Today is obviously quite different, especially after the last renovation cost some 60 million pounds. Moving beyond the main entrances on Oxford Street, you will be greeted by the fragrance of beauty sector or the lights of the jewelry and precious.
