Introduction

Economic development was such that in the forties, the company bought the provincial departments of neighbouring rival Selfridges.

THE department store in Oxford Street is the place where the original little shop was founded in 1864. Today is obviously quite different, especially after the last renovation cost some 60 million pounds.
