Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber Theories

Introduction

The analyses of Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber all are done in such which defines relationship of society to the economic conditions. They evaluate the way in which labor forces and economy influenced the society and how these have transformed the society. These three are involved in developing their ideas and approaches in history highlighted by the industrial revolution. Each of them is a great thinker and each of them developed a different theory discussing the reaction of individuals on the formation of societies. In the formation of these theories based on societies, modernization as well as its influence played a significant role. By a close observation of these three theories, it can be seen that society is mainly dependent on the labor mechanism construction (Ritzer, 2004).



Discussion

An irony can be observed from the theories of these three well-known thinkers diverge. The centerpiece of all the theories related to the society is the relations of production among people who are the owners of the society and hold the control of the market place to those who have to sell their labor for the purpose of getting facilitated with benefits of that labor. They all agreed to the division that exists but they are disagreed by the way in which division is acknowledged and society. Karl Marx consider such division the origin of all social clashes that happened in the past, Emile Durkheim assumes this division as a normative state which is the main source for society to perform its functions efficiently while to Max Weber the competition that is inherent in a capitalist system is supposed as a major element that is not only fruitful for the society but it is also very fruitful ...
